Literature

Quarterly Reports and Justice Briefings – these two resources are similar to the brochure in format but highlight specific cases/activities IJM has been involved in recently

Good News About Injustice, written by IJM founder and CEO Gary Haugen, this book tells the story of Gary’s journey from working in the U.S. Justice Department, to serving as the director of the United Nation’s investigation into the 1994 Rwandan genocide, to founding IJM.  It also gives a clear and compelling overview of God’s heart for justice.  Click here to order Good News About Injustice.

Terrify No More, also written by Gary Haugen, tells the more recent story of IJM’s three year investigation into child sex trafficking in the Cambodian village of Svay Pak, which led to the rescue of dozens of underage girls, some as young as five, from forced prostitution. Click here to order Terrify No More.

Videos
Dateline NBC Special Report  - This Emmy-award winning special documents IJM’s work in Cambodia combating child sex trafficking.  (40 minute DVD)

IJM Speakers
IJM has members on staff who travel to churches and college campuses to share about IJM.  If you are interested in having a speaker for an event, email IJM at justicemission@ijm.org.  Please try to contact us well in advance and include the details of your event (date, location, size of expected audience, etc.) if possible.  This will help us to determine which of our speakers will be the best fit for your event.

Website
www.ijm.org – IJM’s official website, it has a lot of information and is an easy and effective way to introduce people to the organization.

Doing More
IJM's goal is not only to educate, but also to motivate, to be agents God uses to call His people to action on behalf of the abused and the oppressed.  In addition to fundraising, here are a few other actions you can take to help seek justice.

Pray – Every day the entire staff of IJM stops working and joins together to pray at a set time.  To some this might seem like a waste of time.  And it is a waste of time unless God really hears our prayers and really works through them.  At IJM we believe prayer matters.  In fact, we believe it informs and equips everything else we do. If you’d like to partner with us in praying for the oppressed, click here to sign up to become prayer partner.  We’ll email you weekly prayer updates that list specific requests for cases IJM is currently working on and report on cases where God has granted success to IJM.

Get your church involved – In the Bible and in history, great movements are often begun by the efforts of a younger generation. The Justice Mission was created to help young people see God’s heart for justice and take action.  Part of taking action is encouraging others to get involved and to be good stewards of the time, talents, relationships and financial resources they have.  If there is a lack of awareness about issues of injustice among the adult leadership of your church, consider the best way to help make them passionate about this work.  Perhaps organize a dinner at your church where adults can come and hear about IJM.  Organize students to set-up, serve the food and give the presentations.  Get help from your youth minister or an adult in your church who is interested in the work of justice.

Look for injustice on your mission trips – Most churches are currently involved in overseas missions. Find out which overseas missionaries your church supports and ask them about justice issues they encounter in their work.  Tell them about IJM.  If you have an opportunity to go on a mission trip with your church or youth group, watch the “Spy-It-Out” DVD before you go.  This DVD will teach you how you and your group can participate in the work of justice while you’re overseas, including how to spot injustice and how to report your findings in order to effect change in those places.
